Skee-Ball Atari 2600 Homebrew

In 2013 I programmed a series of homebrew Atari 2600 games with Desert Bus 2600 perhaps being the most recognized. Around this same time I had considered some other conceptual games and concluded that Skee-Ball would have been a perfect addition to the 2600 library. Some of my most favorite games were also their most simple, such as Bowling, Golf, and Air-Sea Battle. Anyways, I threw Skee-Ball together in about 5 hours and am satisfied with its results.

The game features 9, 12, or 15 ball play with scoring exactly like a real Skee-Ball machine. The top corners are worth 100 points, and from the center down they hole are worth, 50, 40, 30, etc. First you set your aim with the button, then the power bar on the lower left side of the screen becomes activated. Press up to throw. The larger the power bar the higher up the ramp the ball will go, However, if you miss the bar at its strongest it wraps around to its weakest and you’ll likely throw a gutter.

The rom will be released soon.

And on an unrelated note, Amazon has discounted my latest book The Unauthorized Atari 2600 Activision Companion. Buy this or my other Atari books here.
